2008 Intern Program

We are seeking tertiary students studying journalism, communications, politics, public relations and/or marketing wanting to gain some work experience assisting us on a variety of projects.

We pride ourselves on its exceptional knowledge and experience in providing clients with high-level corporate strategy, reputation, communications, public affairs and issues management services.

Working with a number of national clients, the Intern will be involved in assisting with all aspects public affairs, government relations, corporate communications and media relations for a range of existing clients as well as working on creating new opportunities. The role will also involve undertaking associated administrative duties.

The ideal candidate will be in at least their third year of university or TAFE study with a keen interest in developing a career in the public affairs, communications and marketing sectors. A knowledge and understanding of parliamentary, political and public policy processes would be an advantage. The successful candidate will be driven by results, possess a 'can-do' attitude and work well in a team.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and creative who possess above average writing and communications skills with strong organisational skills. We value the importance of your study so the work hours and arrangements are flexible, but ideally you will be available for 1-2 days per week.

This role will commence as a three to six month contract position with the potential for it to grow into a part-time or full-time paid position for the right candidate.

Consultant

We are seeking a Consultant to join our growing team in Sydney.

Springboard Australia prides itself on using its industry experience, public affairs knowledge and communications disciplines to help our clients to protect and grow their reputation, image and business.

Working with a number of national and international clients, the Consultant will be involved in a variety of projects ranging from the planning of strategic corporate communications and public affairs programs to the implementation of communications programs.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of agency and/or in-house communications or political office experience with business-to-business marketing, corporate accounts or public policy advice. The successful candidate will be driven by results, possess a 'can-do' attitude and work well in a team.

Selection criteria:

• ability to implement corporate communications and/or public affairs programs in a timely fashion that delivers results
• demonstrated experience in researching and writing news releases, corporate backgrounders and promotional material
• sound knowledge of media practices, publications and event preparations and practices
• sound knowledge and understanding of parliamentary, political and public policy processes
• solid relationships with key media contacts
• demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks setting and meeting appropriate deadlines and budgets
• understand general principles of business, marketing and stakeholder management and the role of stakeholder engagement in the communications mix
• high level analysis, research and problem solving skills.
• high level oral, written communication and presentation skills.

Web/Graphic Designer

We are seeking an experienced web/graphic designer who is enthusiastic, flexible, deadline driven and willing to take on a variety of design challenges working both with existing client artwork and creating original designs.

Tertiary qualifications at associate diploma level or equivalent in graphic design, multimedia design or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of training and experience will be highly regarded.

To be successful in this exciting role you will have excellent knowledge of HTML and experience using a range of software to create Web sites (including Dreamweaver, Photoshop or Fireworks and Illustrator or Freehand); high level of graphic composition skills; familiarity with Director and/or Flash; ability to communicate with clients, analyse the requirements of a design brief and understand the constraints of designing for a Web environment; demonstrated ability to organise and plan work with care and attention to detail while meeting deadlines; ability to work independently and as part of a team; commitment to quality customer service. Experience with online applications and data-driven websites would be a distinct advantage.

Initially a part-time contract position, the successful candidate will be eager to grow the portfolio of clients and develop their own business stream. Attractive bonuses will be available to the right candidate.
